Lovva Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026

The short version. Lovva has no server and no account. Everything you record stays in Lovva's own storage on your iPhone or iPad. The app makes no network requests at all, so it cannot send your child's information anywhere. There is no advertising, no analytics tool, no crash reporter, no tracking and no third-party code of any kind inside Lovva.

Your information leaves your device only if you deliberately export it: a backup file or a PDF visit summary that you create and then choose where to send. Two things are also worth knowing, and we explain both below: iOS device backups can include Lovva's data, and Apple can give us anonymous, aggregated app statistics if you have turned that option on.

  1. Who we are

Lovva is developed and published by Pleyra ("Pleyra", "we", "us"). Pleyra is the data controller for the limited purposes described in this policy.

Developer Pleyra Email support@pleyra.com App Lovva for iPhone and iPad (App Store) As you will read below, Lovva is built so that we do not receive your information in the first place. That means most of what a privacy policy usually describes, such as databases, retention schedules and data sharing, simply does not exist here.

  1. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Lovva iOS app. It does not cover other Pleyra products, or any third-party service or website you might reach from a link inside the app. Those have their own policies.

  1. What Lovva stores on your device

Lovva is a record-keeping app, so it holds whatever you choose to record. All of it is written to your device and nowhere else. Depending on which features you use, that can include:

Child profile Your child's name and date of birth (required to create a profile) Sex, if you choose to set it (optional) A profile photo, if you add one Daily care logs Nursing, bottle, solid food, pumping, sleep and diaper entries, with times, durations and amounts Free-text notes you attach to any entry Health and medical records These are sensitive categories of information. Lovva keeps them on your device only.

Medication name and dose Body temperature readings Growth measurements: weight, height and head circumference Vaccinations you mark as done, and their dates Care plan items such as doctor visits, vaccines, vitamins, allergies and therapy appointments Free-text health notes, for example about fever, food reactions, medication or a doctor's visit Memories Monthly photos and "first moment" milestones, with dates and notes Safety notes (optional features) An emergency contact's name and phone number, a school or bus route description, a tracker tag name and related notes Notes about your own baby monitor or home camera, such as the device name, the room and its address on your home network These are notes for your own reference. Lovva does not read your location, does not connect to your camera and does not call anyone. See section 11 about information you enter regarding other people.

App settings Your caregiver role (mother, father or caregiver), chosen units, language, theme, reminder switches, which child profile is active, the date of your last backup and whether Lovva+ is active

  1. Where that information lives

On your device, in Lovva's own private storage. Technically, it is kept in the app's local database, in the iOS preferences store (UserDefaults) and in files inside Lovva's sandboxed app container. iOS protects that container: no other app can read it, and it is covered by the device's built-in encryption.

Lovva has no cloud storage of its own. It does not use iCloud sync, CloudKit or any other synchronisation service, so your records are not mirrored to another device or to us.

  1. What we receive

Nothing. That is not a policy choice we could quietly reverse; it is how the app is built.

Lovva contains no networking code. It performs no requests to any server, including ours. The app works fully in Airplane Mode. Lovva contains no third-party software: no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising network, no attribution or marketing SDK. The app is built entirely on Apple's own frameworks. Lovva does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA) and never asks to track you across other companies' apps or websites. There is no account, no login, no email address and no password. We do not know who you are. This is why Lovva's App Store privacy label says "Data Not Collected", and why the app's privacy manifest declares no collected data types and no tracking.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling. We could not, even if we wanted to.

  1. What Apple may receive

Lovva runs on Apple's platform and is sold through Apple's store, so a few things happen between you and Apple. These are outside our control and are governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Purchases If you buy Lovva+, Apple processes the payment. We never see your payment details, your name or your Apple Account. Apple confirms to the app, on the device itself, that a purchase is active. Separately, Apple gives us aggregated sales and subscription reports, which contain totals and countries, not individual customers.

App analytics and crash reports If you have turned on Share iPhone Analytics and Share with App Developers in your iOS settings, Apple may provide us with anonymous crash logs and aggregated usage statistics, such as how many people opened the app. This comes from Apple, not from code inside Lovva, and it does not identify you or contain any of your child's records. You can turn it off at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.

Device backups If you use iCloud Backup, or back your device up to a computer, iOS includes Lovva's app data in that backup, the same way it does for your other apps. That backup belongs to you and is handled by Apple under Apple's terms. We have no access to it. If you would rather Lovva's data not be included, you can turn Lovva off in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage > Backups.

Links that open outside the app A few screens offer links. Lovva never loads them in the background; nothing happens unless you tap. When you do, the link opens in Safari or the App Store, and that website receives a normal web request (which typically means your IP address and browser details). Those destinations are: this policy and our terms page on pleyra.com, Apple's Find My app listing, Apple support articles, and an official public health authority immunisation schedule.

  1. Permissions

Permission Used? Why Notifications Yes, if you allow it So reminders can appear. Every reminder is created and scheduled on your device. Lovva has no push notification capability, so no notification can ever be sent to you from a server. Photos Indirectly When you add a photo, iOS opens its own photo picker. Lovva is never granted access to your photo library; iOS simply hands over the single photo you selected, which Lovva then stores as a smaller copy. Your original photo is not modified. Camera No Not requested, not used. Microphone No Not requested, not used. Location No Not requested, not used. Lovva does not read location data, including from any tracker tag. Contacts No Not requested, not used. If you enter an emergency contact, you type it in yourself. Apple Health (HealthKit) No Lovva does not read from or write to Apple Health.

  1. Reminders and the lock screen

Reminders are scheduled locally, but please note that a reminder can show your child's name, for example when it prompts you to check the vaccination card. Like any notification, it may be visible on your lock screen to anyone holding your device. If you would rather it were not, you can hide previews in Settings > Notifications > Show Previews, or turn reminders off inside Lovva.

  1. Emergency numbers

Some articles show the emergency number for your region. Lovva determines this by reading your device's region setting locally. Nothing is transmitted, and the number is shown as text only: Lovva never places a call. In an emergency, dial your local emergency number yourself.

  1. Backups and exports you create

These are the only ways information can leave your device, and each one requires you to start it.

Backup file Lovva can write a backup to a single file so that you can move to a new device or keep a copy. That file contains everything: profiles, all records and notes, and your photos.

The backup file is not encrypted. Lovva hands it to the iOS share sheet and you choose the destination. If you save it to iCloud Drive, another cloud service, a messaging app or email, then it is subject to that service's terms and security, not ours. Please keep your backup somewhere you trust, and treat it as you would any document containing your child's health information.

PDF visit summary Lovva+ can generate a PDF to take to a doctor's appointment. It contains your child's name, date of birth and age, completed vaccinations, growth measurements, a recent activity summary and your health notes. You choose who receives it.

  1. Information about other people

Some optional fields let you record details about people other than your child, most obviously an emergency contact's name and phone number. That information also stays on your device, and we never see it. Because it concerns someone else, please only enter what is appropriate, and remember it will be included in any backup file or shared emergency card you produce.

  1. Deleting your data

Delete one child's records: available in the app. It removes that child's profile, logs, measurements, photos, plans, notes and pending reminders. Delete everything: available in the app. It erases all profiles, all records, all notes, all photos and all reminders, and resets your settings. Delete the app: removing Lovva from your device deletes its data container along with it. Deletion inside the app is permanent and is verified before it reports success. If it is interrupted, for instance because the app is closed mid-way, it finishes automatically the next time you open Lovva.

We hold no copy of anything, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side, and nothing we can restore for you. One thing deliberately survives: if you bought Lovva+, that purchase belongs to your Apple Account and is unaffected. Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. To cancel, see our Terms of Use.

  1. Retention

Your records stay on your device for as long as you keep them there. We operate no retention schedule, because we retain nothing.

  1. Children's information

Lovva is a tool for a parent or caregiver to keep private records about a child in their care. It is intended to be used by adults, it is not directed to children, and it is not offered in the App Store Kids Category.

Lovva does not knowingly collect information from children, because it does not collect information from anyone. The details you enter about your child are created by you, stay on your device, are never transmitted to us or to any third party, and are never used for advertising or profiling. There is no advertising in Lovva at all.

By entering a child's information you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you are authorised by them to do so.

  1. Your rights

Depending on where you live, data protection law (such as the EU and UK GDPR, Türkiye's KVKK, or California's CCPA/CPRA) gives you rights over your personal information: to access it, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, restrict or object to its processing, and not be subject to automated decision-making.

With Lovva, you exercise those rights directly in the app, and instantly:

Access and portability: open your records at any time, or export them as a backup file or PDF. Correction: edit or delete any entry. Erasure: delete a child's records, delete everything, or delete the app. If you write to us asking for a copy of your data or for it to be erased, we will have to tell you the same thing: we do not hold it, so there is nothing for us to send or delete. That is not an evasion; it is the design of the product.

For California residents: we do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising. We have never done so.

You always have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

  1. International transfers

None. Your information is not transmitted anywhere, so it is never transferred to another country. (Should you export a backup yourself and place it in a cloud service, that transfer is yours, and it is governed by that provider's terms.)

  1. Security

Lovva's data sits inside the iOS app sandbox, which no other app can read, and is protected by the device's built-in encryption. That protection is only as strong as your device passcode. Please set a passcode and enable Face ID or Touch ID. Because Lovva never transmits your data, there is no server of ours to breach and no traffic to intercept. The weakest point is the export you make yourself. Backup files are unencrypted, and a PDF summary is readable by anyone who has it. Store and share them carefully. No method of storage is perfectly secure, and if your device itself is lost, unlocked or compromised, its contents may be exposed. We cannot protect against that.

  1. Medical notice

Lovva is for personal record-keeping and general information. It is not a medical device and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional about your child's health. See our Terms of Use for the full notice.

  1. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top. If we ever make a material change to how information is handled, for example if a future version of Lovva were to introduce an optional online feature, we will make that clear inside the app before it takes effect, and we will ask for your consent where the law requires it.

  1. Contact

Questions about this policy, or about privacy in Lovva: support@pleyra.com. We aim to reply within 30 days.
