Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Pleyra ("Pleyra," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile and desktop applications we develop and publish (each, an "App," and collectively, the "Apps"). It applies to all Apps published by Pleyra on the Apple App Store and Mac App Store, unless a specific App displays its own separate privacy policy.
Short version: Pleyra does not collect, sell, or share your personal data for advertising or profiling. Our Apps are designed to work without accounts and to process your content on your own device. Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple, not by us. The only situation in which you send information directly to Pleyra is when you choose to email our support address.
- Who We Are
Pleyra is the developer and provider of the Apps, and is the data controller responsible for any personal data described in this Policy. Our provider and seller identity, matching the seller shown on the App Store, is:
Provider: Mehmet Sabri Sepik, trading as Pleyra Address: Sariyer, Istanbul, Turkiye General contact: hello@pleyra.com Support: support@pleyra.com Website: www.pleyra.com
- Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy covers all Apps developed and published by Pleyra. It describes what information is and is not collected when you download, install, and use our Apps. It does not apply to third-party products, services, or websites that we do not own or control, including the Apple App Store and Mac App Store, which are governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
- Information We Do Not Collect
Our Apps are built to respect your privacy. Except for the support communications described in Section 7, Pleyra does not collect, request, or store personal information about you. In particular, we do not collect:
Your name, phone number, or postal address; Account credentials, because our Apps generally do not require you to create an account with Pleyra; Payment card numbers, billing information, or financial data; Precise or approximate location data; Your files, photos, contacts, calendars, or messages (any processing of such content happens only on your device, as described in Sections 4 and 12); Advertising identifiers; we do not build advertising profiles about you; Analytics that identify you personally. Because we do not collect this information through the Apps, we cannot sell, rent, trade, or disclose it. We do not sell your personal information or share it for advertising or profiling. The only personal information you provide directly to us is any support correspondence you choose to send (see Section 7), which is handled only as described in this Policy.
- On-Device Data
Some features of our Apps create or store data locally on your device so that the App can function, for example your in-app settings, preferences, saved content, or progress. This information stays on your device (and, where you have enabled Apple iCloud, within your own private iCloud account managed by Apple). Pleyra does not have access to this on-device data, and it is not transmitted to our servers.
- Device Permissions
Depending on the App and the feature you use, an App may ask your permission to access parts of your device, such as notifications, the photo library, local storage, or, on macOS, additional file access. A permission is requested only when it is needed for the specific feature you are engaging with, and the associated data is processed on your device. You can grant or revoke these permissions at any time in your device or system settings. Denying a permission may limit the related feature but will not otherwise prevent you from using the App. Apps that do not need a given permission will not request it.
- Purchases and Subscriptions
Our Apps offer paid features, which may include one-time purchases, auto-renewable subscriptions (for example monthly or yearly), and lifetime (one-time, non-renewing) purchases. All payments, billing, and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account.
Pleyra does not process or receive your credit card number, billing address, or other payment details. Entitlement checks (confirming which features you have purchased) are performed on your device through Apple's StoreKit. Apple may share with us limited, non-identifying transaction information, such as the fact that a purchase or refund occurred and the product identifier, so that we can deliver the purchased functionality and provide support. This does not, on its own, identify you personally to us. Your purchase history and receipts are held by Apple and subject to Apple's privacy policy. You can manage your subscriptions at any time in your device's Settings under your name, in Subscriptions, or through the App Store.
- Support Communications
When you contact us for support (for example by emailing support@pleyra.com or hello@pleyra.com, including from within an App), you send certain information directly to Pleyra so that we can help you. This may include:
Your email address; The content of your message and any attachments you choose to include; The name, version, and build number of the App you are contacting us about; Your operating system version (for example, your macOS version). We use this information only to respond to you, to diagnose and resolve your issue, and to keep a record of the support we have provided. We do not use support communications for marketing, and we do not sell them or use them for advertising. Support correspondence may be processed by our email and hosting providers, acting as our service providers, solely to operate our support service and subject to appropriate data-protection obligations. We keep support messages for as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterward for reference, generally no longer than 24 months, after which they are deleted, unless a longer retention period is required by law or to resolve an ongoing matter. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence at any time by writing to hello@pleyra.com, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it.
- Update and Compatibility Checks
Some of our Apps include features that connect over an encrypted HTTPS connection to trusted external addresses in order to check for updates or verify compatibility. These requests do not include file contents, file names, folder paths or scan results. The destination server necessarily receives the public IP address and standard connection metadata required to complete the request, together with a generic identifier describing the App and the type of request (for example, a string such as "Update Compatibility Check"). We recognize that an IP address may be treated as personal data in some jurisdictions; it is used only to complete the connection when the relevant feature runs, and Pleyra does not use it to track you or to build a profile about you.
- Third-Party Services
Our Apps are designed to minimize reliance on third parties. Where an App interacts with Apple's own services (for example StoreKit for purchases, or iCloud for your own synced data), that interaction is governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy. We do not integrate third-party advertising networks or trackers into our Apps. If any individual App uses an additional third-party service that processes data, that App's App Store product page and its App Privacy details will disclose it, and this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly. In addition, the support correspondence described in Section 7 may be processed by our email and hosting providers acting as service providers on our behalf, solely to operate our support service and subject to appropriate data-protection obligations. We do not otherwise share your personal data, and we do not sell it or share it for advertising.
- Analytics and Advertising
Our Apps do not contain third-party analytics SDKs or advertising SDKs. To the extent Apple provides developers with aggregated, anonymized, and non-identifying diagnostic or usage information (for example through Apple's own App Analytics, which you can opt out of in your device settings under Privacy and Security, then Analytics and Improvements), such information is aggregated by Apple and does not identify you to us, and we do not combine it with any other data to re-identify you.
- Local Data After You Uninstall
Some data created by an App is stored locally by the operating system and may not be fully removed when you delete the App. On macOS in particular, preferences, protected paths and local purchase state may remain after the App is removed, depending on macOS behavior. Where an App provides reset controls, you can erase this data through the App's reset controls before uninstalling. Because this data stays on your device, Pleyra has no access to it.
- App-Specific Privacy Information
Because our Apps serve different purposes, some of them process certain information locally on your device in order to do their job. Where an App does this, the processing takes place on your device and the data is not uploaded to Pleyra. Depending on the App, on-device processing may include:
Reading file names, folder paths, sizes, and dates in order to organize, compare, or manage items you select; Generating thumbnails or performing photo or file comparisons on your device; Checking your purchase entitlements through Apple's StoreKit on your device; Using optional file access, such as macOS Full Disk Access, only where you explicitly grant it, so the App can operate on the files or folders you choose. This access is optional, and the App will explain why it is requested. In all of these cases, your files, folders, photos, and any results produced from them remain on your device and are not transmitted to Pleyra. Our Apps contain no analytics or advertising SDKs. The only outbound connection some Apps make is the update or compatibility check described in Section 8. If a particular App processes data in a way not described here, that App will disclose it in the App itself and on its App Store product page.
- Children's Privacy
Our Apps are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we do not collect personal information from users through the Apps (other than support emails a user chooses to send), we likewise do not knowingly collect it from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information through a support email, please contact us at hello@pleyra.com and we will delete it.
- Data Security
Because our Apps process your content on your device and we do not store personal data on our servers, the risk of your information being exposed through Pleyra is minimized by design. Data created by the Apps is stored locally and is protected by the security features of your device's operating system and, where applicable, your own iCloud account. Support emails you send us are stored in our email systems and are accessible only to Pleyra. We encourage you to protect your device with a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.
- International Users and Data Transfers
Our Apps are available internationally. Because we do not collect personal data through the Apps, we do not transfer such data across borders. If you email us for support, your message is processed wherever our email provider operates. Any data handled by Apple in connection with your purchases or device services is subject to Apple's own international data practices and privacy policy.
- Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the United Kingdom GDPR, or the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA and CPRA), including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and the right not to have your personal data sold. We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and any support correspondence we hold is processed only as described in this Policy. The main personal data we may hold is any support correspondence you have sent us; you can ask us to access or delete it by writing to hello@pleyra.com, and we will respond in accordance with applicable law. For information held by Apple regarding your account or purchases, please contact Apple directly.
- Legal Basis for Processing (EEA and UK Users)
To the limited extent we process personal data, our legal bases are: your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to you when you contact support; the performance of our agreement with you when we deliver purchased features; and compliance with legal obligations where applicable. We do not process your data for advertising or profiling.
- Do Not Track
We do not track users across third-party websites or apps, so there is no cross-site tracking to enable or disable in response to "Do Not Track" signals.
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our Apps, in applicable law, or in our practices. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the new version at this address. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to inform you, such as through a notice within an App or on our website. Your continued use of an App after the updated policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
